- Information about virgin wool & Lyocell: Pure virgin wool always comes from shearing on live sheep. It is elastic, shape retaining and not prone to wrinkling. The yarn is highly insulating and can absorb up to 33% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. Lyocell is a fiber industrially produced from cellulose, i.e. natural raw materials. The fiber has an exceptionally smooth surface with a silky feel, warms almost as well as virgin sheep's wool, cools similar to linen and is more absorbent than cotton.
